- Consultation & assessment. We talk through what's bothering you and Eleana assesses whether treatment is suitable.
- Prescribing. Because it's a prescription-only medicine, the same nurse prescriber who assesses you also prescribes it — after that assessment, never before.
- Treatment. A series of tiny injections is placed precisely. It's quick and most people find it very manageable.
- Review. Results build over one to two weeks, and a review can be arranged to check how it has settled.
Why a nurse prescriber matters
Anti-wrinkle injections use a prescription-only medicine, which by law must be prescribed by a suitably qualified prescriber after a face-to-face assessment. At A for Aesthetics that's Eleana — an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and independent prescriber with an MSc in advanced clinical practice and eight years' experience. So the person assessing you, prescribing and carrying out your treatment is one and the same clinician, working to a medical standard, not a therapist administering someone else's prescription.
Aftercare
- Stay upright and avoid rubbing or massaging the area for the rest of the day.
- Avoid heavy exercise, alcohol and heat for the first 24 hours.
- Results develop gradually — give it up to two weeks before judging.
